FAQ Regarding Usage

Regarding Usage

 ⚫︎ Cooking/Storage

Q. It gets burnt. How can I prevent it from getting burnt?

A. Before starting cooking, preheating is necessary. Put oil in the frying pan and add the ingredients when it's warmed up. This prevents sticking, even with eggs. Controlling the heat is crucial, so please pay attention to maintaining the right temperature. The pan doesn’t have a coating; it's only seasoned with oil, so as long as the oil is well-seasoned, there shouldn’t be any issues.

Q. Are there any recommendations for when to use the JunTETSU frying pan and JunTETSU pot for cooking?

A. The JunTETSU pot is suitable for simmering dishes, frying, and hot pots. Additionally, because of its higher walls, it's great for dishes with more liquid. On the other hand, the JunTETSU pan is better for grilling. Its superior heat conductivity makes it ideal for grilling steaks and similar dishes.

 ⚫︎ Care Methods

Q. Is there anything I need to do before using it for the first time?

A. For the first time, it's already seasoned, so you can use it right after rinsing with water.

Q. I'd like to know how to take care of it.

A. Here are three recommended steps for post-use care. Please consider them as a guide for maintenance after usage.

Step 1: Wash with warm water soon after cooking. Use a scrubber or a brush to remove oil stains.

Step 2: Tough stains can be cleaned by gently rubbing with a metal scrubber. Remember to wash the backside as well.

Step 3: Heating it up to evaporate all moisture is sufficient. If the oil is well-seasoned, there's no need to reapply oil. You can use it right after it arrives. Basically, it's best to clean it using a scrubber without detergent. However, in cases of heavy soiling, using detergent might be necessary. If so, re-seasoning it afterward would be advisable. Using highly acidic ingredients might reset the seasoned oil, turning the surface silver again. Reapply oil while using it to gradually restore the black color through regular use.
